“The real contribution that New York Review Books makes [is] it helps you to see that the world is more different than you thought. By teaching you what the American novel has been, they teach you what it can be and in turn what the American people have been and can be…” —D.T. Max, Los Angeles Times

The website was redesigned in 2015. My responsibilities were to design headers that reflected each series.

The Reader’s Catalog

The Reader’s Catalog

The Reader’s Catalog is an eCommerce website that sells book-related products. You will find an impressive selections of journals, pens, reading glasses, and gifts for children that foster, guide, and encourage a love of reading and writing, including thoughtfully selected books, educational toys, and games for infants through teens. My focus is the visual layout of the products so they are clear and inviting to buyers.

New York Review Comics catalog

With the first NYRC catalog, I worked with the co-editors on presenting the first six titles of the series with emphases on the visual and less on the text that usually associated with book catalogs.

Redesign of IPL header

Redesign of IPL header

The Advertising Department wanted to update the entire look of The Independent Press Listing, which appears in thirteen of the twenty annual issues of The New York Review of Books, offers small presses the opportunity to advertise their titles at a heavily discounted rate. It has been more than twenty years since any new design was introduced. The first thing we did was to redesign the header with a modern font and color that could last another twenty years and more.
